After having my car washed this weekend and keeping it sheltered in the garage away from any possibility of getting dirty, it rained on my way to work this morning. Gah! Didn't even last one nano second outside. I guess it's what I get after I moved a coworker's car today without him knowing....haha it was definitely a prank for the record books!!

6/26/11 - Sunday Funday
Check out what we have done all day. Well, we did a few must-needed items, but we have pretty much been lazy and lounged around all day. It's been perfect!! I wish we could have like 2 more days just like this. Good thing we have a long weekend ahead of us and we are both off for most of it!!!! HOORAY!!! Very much looking forward to more lazy days like this with him :-D

6/22/11 - Aftermath

Storms ripped through the area last night and left this mess in the backyard. The tent is from the neighbors house, but it was crazy to see all of this happen. A LOT of trees were down in the area and even though we were blessed to have our power turn back on after a few hours, many people were without power for days. I really never thought I'd experience worse storms than the ones in Texas!
6/21/11 - Take Cover!!!

The weather tonight was nuts. It got pitch black outside in less than 30 minutes and then as the storm rolled in it got light outside again. This storm was crazy. The tornado sirens kept going off in the town and we went downstairs to the basement to be cautious. I took this photo and text it to my mom to let her know we were camping out downstairs and I kid you not, as soon as I was finished clicking the photo icon on my phone, the power went out. As you can see Sponge made it downstairs with us because there was no way I was going to leave him all alone during the storm. I think Domingo got jealous because he kept mumbling, "I can't believe you brought him down here..." or something like that. Sounds like pure jealousy to me!
6/20/11 - Craigslist Crazy
Domingo and I have gone Craigslist Crazy!!! We are doing quite well in selling a few of our items in order to upgrade and earn some extra cash. So far we have sold a loveseat, an office chair, and our grill. Although someone was sad to see the grill go - he knows that for his birthday he is graciously getting a new one from his lovely girlfriend. Yes, sadly we both put one on layaway because someone couldn't wait to be surprised. Not bitter at all that he knows. Not one bit.........at....all. Grrr......
Moving on, we still have a few more things to sell and all the money is going towards a lovely new patio set for our deck. Pretty soon we will not only have an indoor oasis, but we will have an outdoor one too!! Don't worry, photos will follow for sure!
*Disclaimer* Ok, so yeah I creeped on the guys while they were dis-assembling the grill and took that photo. No, they don't know. Yes, I looked/felt like a creeper. It was all in the blog's favor though.
6/19/11 - Mosquito BBQ
First of all...HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!!!
In honor of my papa, we hung out with Domingo's papa today! A lot of their extended family ended up coming over as well and we hung out outside and bbq'd. Apparently, the mosquitos did too. We all ended up with a TON of bites and they were just feasting on us. So sad that something so small and so annoying can really put a damper on such a fun time. I should have stolen Stephanie's Off-Clip when I had the chance...darn.

6/18/11 - Warrior Dash
Yes, the above photo is a bit scary. I apologize for my insanity ahead of time...
Thanks to my glorious injury in my back, I had signed up for this race months ago thinking I would have noooo problem doing it. WRONG! There was no way I could run 3.5 miles with an obstacle course of mud throughout. Sooo, I decided to show up today and collect my goody bag for what I paid for at least. Now, you'll see the above shirt does read "I survived the Warrior Dash." The only way I survived the Warrior Dash was by not doing it :0). No really, just looking at the people coming out of the finish line scared the crap out of me. They were covered in mud from head to toe. It was a mess. Although deep down (way deep) I'm sad I couldn't run it, I'm glad I survived not getting all muddy. Maybe next year....maybe. I did get a cool viking hat though. I think I'm going to wear it to work on Monday too for fun!

6/15/11 - DePaul Alumn
Tonight I became DePaul's newest alumn without even having to owe or pay them one cent. I managed to do this by attending the Youth Alumni Night with Vanessa. There were free drinks, free drinks, and free candle votives, haha!! It was a rather interesting night to say the least, but definitely a good one. Here's to the DIBS (yes, I just had to Google their mascot)!!!
6/14/11 - Hello Puppy
So ever since Thursday, I feel like Nike is trying to channel me. I know that sounds super bizarre but I can't help but feel that way. We had a doggy incident at home this past weekend (a puppy showed up on our deck and then jumped off from the second story :0( He's ok...hopefully), people keep telling me their puppy stories, and then today I was behind this car as I was leaving work. I loved the fact that this person put their doggy on the back of their car. I thought it was super cute. I don't know if I am ready to have a dog just yet, but maybe this is Nike's way to tell me it's ok and that I can do this...

6/13/11 - Craigslist
In effort to try and get rid of some items in the house and make some extra cash, we have decided to list a few things a-la Craigslist!! Check out our first few postings below (and definitely let me know if you're interested :0D)

6/12/11 - FANatic
In addition to all the fun improvements on the house (especially this weekend), we have also put up new fans (with really high-tech switches) and added one into our bedroom. They go with all the decor in the house and aren't the least bit sad to have gotten rid of the really cool Crayola and spaceship fans that were in the rooms. Honestly, life gets better and better in the house!!!
6/11/11 - Fountaindale Public Library

Or my new favorite place/home. This library has been open for a little over a month now and it is beyond the coolest library I have ever set foot in. Not only is it state-of-the-art, but it is a place to be excited about and relax in. I kind of wish I was doing some sort of research project because not only are the resources there, but they have these amazing conference rooms/pods that are accessible for your use and are private. The whole library in itself is super high-tech. I'm glad I've stumbled across it. After all, we pay enough in taxes for it - I might as well utilize it to the fullest potential!

6/9/11 - Nike
Nike was a part of our family for 16 years. She was truly a gift from God that would just brighten our days. Who knew a little runt from a farm that only cost us $30 would be so amazingly special to us. Even though I had been preparing myself for this day for a while now, I never ever expected it to hit me like it has. I never wanted to imagine our family without her. She was my parent's "other daughter" and I loved watching their relationship with her. Our family really has a lot of wonderful memories with dear Nike and it is so sad to know she's gone. May the Lord take good care of her now as she is with Him and not suffering anymore. Even though I have been so far away, I have thought about her every single day and loved her so incredibly much. May you rest in peace now, my dear Nike. We will miss you tremendously...

6/8/11 - Never Ending...
Seriously....not only do I have a TON of stuff (and I realized this big time in the moving process) but I have a TON of pink stuff. In order to de-girl-ize my things, I am trying to still use them, but take away as much pink as possible. Phew...keeping this gender neutral is a heck of a lot harder than one would think. Hopefully this is the last of it...hopefully.
6/7/11 - Picture Perfect

The house is really coming together. Domingo's sister helped me hang these the other day and even though we were all cautious with the location we chose to put them, I really like where they are. I used those really cool velcro-sticky things to put them up and they have never failed me...until this morning. I came into the kitchen this morning to make my lunch and saw one of these on the floor. Thank goodness it didn't break, but I guess I gotta be careful with these and keep my eye on them. If you're in the area and want to see the house, definitely stop on by!!

6/6/11 - Lawn Gnome
My own personal lawn-man was out mowing the yard when I got home today. He was hot, sweaty, and bumping to some good tunes! I felt as a homeowner/best-girlfriend-in-the-world duty required me to go out and help him too. Yes, it took a lot for me to do so, too. Anyways, I got the most awesomest task of all: raking. Not your average everyday raking, either. It was more like combing the yard's hair. It was so fun that I was slow and my task got taken away from me. Then I was deemed with an even better duty: pick up the hair (or grass). I mean seriously, I was mucho importante!! I love being a homeowner.....

6/4/11 - Got My Hair Did
I gave up this time on coloring my own hair and decided to get it professionally done (and thank goodness too!)!! See below for why....
Before (Scary):

After (Aaahhhh :-D):

I found my hairstylist again (who ironically is semi-related to Domingo) and my hair embraced every snip. Let's just hope that I can recreate this masterpiece again tomorrow....if not....who cares I love the color!!!
6/3/11 - Wilton Mania
So the Wilton factory is not too far from my house and I had noticed they are having their annual tent sale and boy was I planning on being in attendance! Looks like so was just about every other female in the vicinity as well...it was beyond packed and the lines were outrageous. People had shopping carts piled high with random cooking/baking supplies. It was a nut house!!
Now, I did honestly go for other people and although I didn't end up buying anything I did find Sarah (my sister's friend) something she was looking for and took a picture for proof:
Sarah, if you are reading this and still want it, please let me know! It's not far from my house and the sale is going on for another week!!!
6/2/11 - Bronzed Babe
6/1/11 - Let's Review
So the time has come to get ready for my annual review for work. It is coming up on Friday and I'm very much looking forward to it. I have very much enjoyed the year spent with my crazy coworkers and learning all about the business, so I know this is going to be a good one. I'm excited to talk about what went well, what new goals I can make, and even what I should work on!! Although I am pretty close to being perfect, I still have things I can improve (shocking, I know)!!
5/31/11 - Cooking Bliss
Ever since we've been in this house, I have really enjoyed cooking. The greatest part is that I have adapted to technology and have really used my laptop as my cookbook. Tonight I prepped the seasonings for an Italian Beef I'm going to make tomorrow in the slow cooker. Who knew I'd actually enjoy this? Guess last year's New Year's Resolution (to cook something each week) worked.....nearly half a year later!
